What is maximum cure or maximum medical improvement?

Video Transcription:

Maximum medical cure or maximum medical improvement is that point at which medical treatment will no longer improve your condition. A great example of that is a back injury and you have a herniated disc. The doctor goes in, performs surgery and either takes the disc out or performs some other treatment to help improve your back condition. However, after the surgery, you still have some back pain. No matter how much medical care or physical therapy you get, your condition is not going to improve. At that point, you’ve reached what’s known as a plateau or maximum medical improvement.
