Do I need an attorney to represent me if I am hurt on a cruise ship or can I try to settle the case on my own?

Video Transcription:

You do not need an attorney to settle your case for an injury aboard a cruise ship. However, you would be foolish not to engage an attorney. An attorney knows the maritime law, knows the causes of action, and knows what damages can be obtained from your particular case. For you to negotiate with the cruise line directly, it puts you at a significant disadvantage in obtaining fair value for your injury.
