What is a Jones Act seaman?

Video Transcription:

A Jones Act Seaman is a crew member that serves aboard a vessel in navigation or an identifiable fleet of vessels in navigation. A shore based employee is generally not a Jones Act Seaman. The typical rule of thumb is that in order to be a Jones Act Seaman, you must spend at least 30% of your working time aboard a vessel in navigation.
