Yes. As a shrimper, you are entitled to the same causes of action, the same rights and remedies as any other crew member, whether it’s a cruise line, a cargo ship, a tanker, a yacht or a fishing boat. You have the classic seaman’s remedies of Jones Act Negligence against your employer, unseaworthiness against the vessel and the vessel owner, and maintenance and cure.
