If I suffer an offshore injury, am I required to see only company doctors?

Video Transcription:

The short answer that question is, no. However, the company is only obligated to pay for your medical expenses to the extent that the company doctors would charge them. In other words, if your doctor charges more than the company doctor, then you are responsible for the excess charge. Additionally, if the company sends you to a doctor and that doctor commits malpractice in your treatment, the company is responsible for that malpractice which might not be the case if a doctor of your choosing commits malpractice during your treatment.
